Kent was born in Statesboro, GA in 1974 (which makes him young to some, old to others). He graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School and Georgia Southern University. Janna let him marry her in 1996 and they moved to Augusta, GA where he taught school for one year and then came on staff as the youth pastor at the Vineyard Church of Augusta (www.vineyardaugusta.org) for 6 years. During that time he and Janna began to feel they were supposed to start a new church. On a weekend trip to Savannah in March ‘02, while crossing the street at the Kroger on Gwinnett St, Kent sensed God saying, "You're going to have favor in this city." Being that it's hard to nail down God, they continued to pray and did feel called to start a Vineyard Church in Savannah. They moved to Savannah in May ’03 with their daughter, Bess. Kent had 2 "day jobs" while starting the church but has been the full time pastor since June 05.
His interests other than family and the church are sports, movies, meeting new people, Bojangles’ 2-4-1 sausage biscuits, stand-up comedians, and his dogs, Missy an Elmo. If he's not at home you'll probably find Kent at Vincenzo's Pizzeria, the YMCA, or anywhere people gather.
